And when he had finished his word the people wept, and the Priest went back to the sacristy, and his eyes were full of tears. And the deacons came in and began to unrobe him, and took from him the alb and the girdle, the maniple and the stole. And he stood as one in a dream.

And after that they had unrobed him (и после того, как они /помогли/ ему разоблачиться), he looked at them and said (он посмотрел на них и сказал), `What are the flowers that stand on the altar (что это за цветы, что стоят на алтаре), and whence do they come (откуда они /появились/; to come — приходить; появляться, возникать)?'

And they answered him (а они ответили ему), `What flowers they are we cannot tell (что это за цветы, мы сказать не можем), but they come from the corner of the Fullers' Field (но они из уголка на Поле Сукновалов).' And the Priest trembled (и Священник задрожал), and returned to his own house (и вернулся к себе домой: «в свой собственный дом») and prayed (и стал молиться).

And after that they had unrobed him, he looked at them and said, `What are the flowers that stand on the altar, and whence do they come?'

And they answered him, `What flowers they are we cannot tell, but they come from the corner of the Fullers' Field.' And the Priest trembled, and returned to his own house and prayed.

The Fauns also he blessed (также он благословил Фавнов), and the little things that dance in the woodland (и тех маленьких существ, что танцуют в лесу), and the bright-eyed things (и существ с яркими глазами) that peer through the leaves (что вглядываются сквозь листву; leaf (мн.ч. leaves) — лист). All the things in God's world (всех существ Божьего мира) he blessed (благословил он), and the people were filled with joy and wonder (и люди были преисполнены радости и удивления/изумления). Yet never again in the corner of the Fullers' Field (и все же никогда больше в уголке Поля Сукновалов) grew flowers of any kind (не росли никакие цветы; to grow (grew, grown)), but the field remained barren (а поле оставалось бесплодным и пустым) even as before (таким же, как и раньше). Nor came the Sea-folk into the bay (/также/ не заплывали и Морские Обитатели в залив/бухту;
